Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has dropped six of the 24 players in camp ahead of the Chan qualifier against Ivory Coast scheduled for Saturday in Abidjan.
The players dropped are Kano Pillars striker Gambo Mohammed, who suffered a knock in Monday’s training, Mohammed Jiya (Bayelsa United FC), Eziekel Bassey (Lobi Stars), Dele Olorundare (Sunshine stars), Ganiyu Ogungbe (Kwara utd), and Haruna Babalo (Nasarawa Utd).Gambo, who opened the scoring in the 4-1 first leg rout of the Elephants, suffered a hamstring injury on Monday and has not trained since.
Keshi has picked 18 players for the trip to Abidjan for the second leg of the African Nations Championship qualifier.
Joining the Kano Pillars striker in missing the squad are Dele Olorundare, Haruna Babalo, Ganiyu Ogungbe, Ezekiel Bassey and Diya Mohammed
